Alexis Webster, MAT
Hi! A Northeastern transplant, I grew up in New England and attended Connecticut College, where I received a BA in English. I honed my writing and editing skills working in publishing and advertising in NYC before obtaining my Master’s in Teaching from Brown University. After spending a few years teaching high school English and History, I moved to Austin and worked for a test-prep company dedicated to helping underserved public schools. Since 2014, I have been assisting students and families through the college application process, from building balanced lists to getting everything submitted (on time!). I also volunteer for ScholarMatch, a national non-profit dedicated to increasing college access. I live in SW Austin with my husband, sons, and a growing number of pets.
Education is my passion. As a college consultant, I get to work with students as they straddle two stages of life—hopefully helping them feel more confident as they plan their futures. I love working with students on their essays and applications, teasing out their personalities and helping their activities and passions shine. Equal parts project manager and cheerleader, I like to get the job done—hopefully with a few laughs along the way.
I take my work and own education seriously. I'm a Professional Member of IECA, the most recognized organization of Independent Educational Consultants. I also completed UC Irvine's Independent Educational Consultant Certificate Program and am a member of TACAC. I regularly visit colleges, attend professional conferences, and network with fellow college admissions professionals.
I'm Fun to Work With!
"I don't know what I'd do without you! You helped me elevate my writing for college applications, essays, and speeches. You were always quick to respond to all of my messages, gave amazing feedback, and encouraged me to think creatively. You have undoubtedly helped me become a better writer. Thanks to your help, I am excited to attend UT Dallas and participate in the Collegium V Honors program in the fall. I don’t think I can truly express how grateful I am for your help… so again, THANK YOU!" -Jessica, student
"I cannot express how grateful I am for all your help! Thank you so very much for guiding me through the college application process. You made the process a fun, exciting experience. You also introduced me to my dream school to which I am so grateful for. Thank you, thank you!" -Hannah, student
